Launched in September last year, Mahindra has introduced new trims on the 2015 Scorpio called the ‘S4+’ and ‘S6+’. Positioned above the current S4 trim, the new S4+ comes with a host of safety features that have trickled down from the higher variants including dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, seatbelt reminder warning system and panic brake indication. In addition, the Scorpio S4+ also gets follow-me-home headlamps as standard.

Apart from the new safety features, the 2015 Mahindra Scorpio S4+ variant is offered with the option of 4WD which gets a shift-on-fly All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system as standard, which was earlier available on the S4 trim but has been discontinued. The standard S4 instead will now get only a 2-Wheel drive set-up with power being sent to the rear wheels. Much like the base S2 and S4 variants, the new S4+ also comes with black side cladding as opposed to the body coloured ones along with steel wheels instead of alloys seen on higher trims.

Mahindra has also launched the S6+ trim of the Scorpio which is available in 2WD only. The Scorpio S4+ AWD is priced at Rs. 10.83 lakhs while the S+ retails at Rs. 10.75 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Mahindra is yet to update all the prices of its products post the excise duty revision and dealers state that the new rates will be out in a day or two. Since launch, the new Scorpio has been averaging around 4500 units every month and the vehicle sold 3469 units last month.
