The Nissan GT-R packs in a punch when it comes to performance

Supercars and exotics are always able to turn on the adrenaline in any auto enthusiast’s mind. Out of so many supercars that are available today, everyone has their own preferences and choices. While some people prefer full-blown performance cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis, some people also prefer (comparatively) cheaper options like the Audi R8 or even the Nissan GT-R which is fondly known as Godzilla. So, the latest news in the supercar scene pertains to the Godzilla. Nissan India has imported one unit of a 2014 R35 GT-R from Japan earlier this week and it is highly likely that the vehicle will be used during the oncoming Nissan Carnival that will be held at the Buddh International Circuit on 23rd March 2015.

The Nissan GT-R is one vehicle whose looks need no describing. The sports car has aggressiveness all around and the car looks fast even while standing still. The vehicle also packs in immense road presence and is a sure-shot attention grabber wherever it goes. The GT-R is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo engine that belts out 545 HP of power and 627 Nm of peak torque. The Godzilla completes the 0-100 km/hr sprint in just 2.8 seconds while it takes 11.1 seconds to complete the quarter mile. The performance vehicle also comes with lots of safety tech like six airbags, ABS, traction control, ESC and TPMS.

The Nissan R35 GT-R is in a class of its own. The vehicle has many competitors like the Mercedes SLK55 AMG, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Audi R8, Dodge SRT Viper and Jaguar F-Type. There were also news floating around that stated that the GT-R will be officially launched in India so it is quite possible that Nissan might just surprise everyone by launching the GT-R here. The MY2014 R35 GT-R has been imported at a cost of Rs. 68 lakhs so after adding up all the duties, company profits, RTO taxes and insurance costs, the Godzilla will surely cost at least Rs. 1.8 crore (on-road) when launched.
