The Honda Jazz for the European markets has been revealed and it carries slight changes over the Indian version.

The new LED lamps in the front bumper look striking on the European Jazz

The Honda Jazz was launched in India just a couple of weeks back and now the Japanese automaker has revealed the European version of the premium hatchback. The first thing that we notice in the vehicle are the new LED DRLs in the front bumper which look quite good in fact and Honda should have offered them in India too. The front fascia is largely the same with only the grille having minor differences. The side profile and rear are also more or less similar and there are no noticeable differences apart from the wheels.

Moving to the interiors, again the layout is pretty much the same but the Honda Jazz has a slightly bigger equipment list in Europe. The base models come with AC and a 5-inch LCD screen for the audio system while the mid variants come with a 7-inch Honda Connect touchscreen infotainment system with steering-mounted audio controls. The top variants get a leather steering wheel, keyless entry and push-button start-stop system apart from a touch panel for the AC controls. In comparison, the base variant of the Indian Jazz misses out on an audio system. The mid variants are largely the same while the top variant of the Indian model loses out on keyless entry and push-button start.

The European Honda Jazz comes with a 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine that gives out 102 PS of power and 123 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox while the Indian model gets a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine. Honda has also tuned the vehicle’s suspension for better driving pleasure on European roads. There are no other differences between the Indian and European models as such. Honda showcased the Jazz at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show following which it will now start arriving in showrooms in the developed continent.
