The second generation Toyota Innova is undergoing testing across various parts in India as well as other countries. The Innova has been India’s hottest-selling MPV and also every buyer’s favourite thanks to its supreme reliability and excellent comfort. The 2016 Innova is much-awaited and recently the vehicle was caught on video, undergoing testing rounds in Mysore. As we can see in the video, the MPV is doing pretty decent speeds. It also looks bigger than the current generation model and the styling has also evolved in the new generation of this MPV.

The current generation Innova’s production will be axed over the next three months. However, the GX variant, that is sold in the commercial market, will still be produced for a year. The 2016 Innova will not be sold in the commercial market for the first few years. The new generation will go on sale either during the last quarter of 2015 or the beginning of 2016. The new model is going to be considerable pricier and the top variant is expected to touch Rs. 22 lakhs (on-road). The equipment list will of course be much longer now.

The 2016 Toyota Innova will have its underpinnings from the new IMV platform. The vehicle will also get a new 2.4-litre GD engine that will come with both manual as well as automatic transmissions. The MPV will also get more airbags and safety features in the upcoming generation. The Innova sells in good numbers every month and the higher price of the new model will not really hamper its sales much since the vehicle has made a name for itself and thus the Innova will keep chugging along.
