Hyundai has added new features on the base variants of the Xcent compact sedan while the Eon hatchback misses out on certain cosmetic features on the mid-variant.

Xcent Long Term Review
The top-end SX trim on the Hyundai Xcent has now been discontinued

After recently omitting several features on certain variants of the Elite i20, Hyundai India has now revised the feature list on the Xcent compact sedan and the Eon hatchback in its lineup adding some features while deleting others. Starting with the Xcent, the compact sedan has features updated on all variants, save for the range-topping SX (O) trim. The Base and S trims are now equipped with ABS, making it standard across all variants. The SX trim on the Xcent has been discontinued, whereas the S (O) trim gets rear parking camera with the display incorporated on the internal rear view mirror and dual front airbags.

Coming to the Eon, Hyundai has deleted several features on its entry-level hatchback with the D-Lite+ trim missing out on body coloured bumpers and chrome grille that were otherwise offered as standard. The bumpers are now black while the grille is a body coloured unit. The top-level Era+ variant loses out on central locking as well. Other versions continue in its existing setup with no changes.

In terms of specifications, the Hyundai Xcent continues to draw power from a 1.2-litre petrol unit producing 83 PS and a 1.1-litre diesel engine that produces 72 PS, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is also a 4-speed automatic transmission available with the petrol motor. The Hyundai Eon, on the other hand, uses a 0.8-litre petrol motor churning out 56 PS and a 1.0-litre engine belting out 69 PS of power, with both the engines paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Hyundai will reveal prices of the updated models soon.
