Hyundai’s new lineup of products have been extremely successful in the market with the Elite i20, i20 Active and the all-new Creta global SUV turning out to be segment leaders.

Hyundai i20 Active vs Hyundai Elite i20
Hyundai’s excellent growth has been fuelled by the new set of global products in India

Hyundai India has learned to understand the Indian market very well and the same clearly reflects in the company’s sales chart in recent times. The Korean automaker recorded its highest monthly domestic sales ever clocking 40,505 units for the month of August 2015, while exports for the same period were a healthy 14,103 units taking the cumulative monthly sales figure to 54,608 units. This is the highest ever monthly sales recorded by the company in its Indian history and saw a year-on-year hike of 20 percent.

Hyundai India has been going strong with back to back successful launches in the domestic market over the years and in the more recent period, it has been the arrival of the Elite i20 that managed to change the fortunes of the company. Currently, the Elite i20 and i20 Active are the company’s best sellers, while the newly launched Creta compact SUV has kicked off to an excellent start cumulatively retailing over 17,800 units during the previous month.

The newfound growth has helped Hyundai improve its market share and the company is looking forward to sustain its overall double digit growth, which is higher than the industry growth rate. The excellent response to the Creta from the first month itself has been motivating for the automaker as the compact SUV beat its rivals by a significant margin. Hyundai did see a marginal drop of 1.8 percent in year-on-year exports, but the same has been largely due to the Chennai plant now addressing the domestic demand with several export operations moved out.
