Volkswagen has officially launched a mild update of the Polo which adds a few useful features to different variants. It comes along with a minor price hike for some variants.

2015 Volkswagen Polo Update
The new features add more value to the Polo

Riding majorly on the sales of the Polo in India, Volkswagen has been constantly updating the hatchback for the Indian market. The car has been getting a minor or major update every year since it was launched here. This time, the German automaker has added a few useful features to all its variants of the vehicle in order to make it more competitive in front of the competition. This would also help them increase sales during the upcoming festive season as that is the time when many people are out to buy a new car.

Not only the GT models, the normal variants too have received updates. While the base Trendline variant gets integrated indicators on the ORVMs, the Comfortline variant also gets a cooled glovebox. However, it is the Highline and the GT twins which get the highest number of new features. In addition to cooled glovebox and integrated blinkers on ORVMs, they also get electrically adjustable and retractable ORVM which add a touch of convenience. They also get cruise control as standard which would make highway driving way more comfortable.

The Cross Polo which is essentially a Polo with some body cladding and a different set of alloys also gets the above mentioned features. Mechanically, the Polo remains unchanged and comes with three engine options and two transmission options. In terms of pricing, while the pricing for all the normal variants of the Polo remain unchanged, the GT TDI and GT TSI get an approximate increase of Rs. 10,000/- in the ex-showroom price. The Cross Polo on the other hand gets a price reduction. Considering how useful these small features are, the price hike is immaterial.
