2016 BMW 7-Series Launched At Auto Expo, Priced From Rs. 1.11 Crore [Live]

The 2016 BMW 7-Series has been launched in India and it will be rivaling the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8L and Jaguar XJ-L.

BMW has launched its luxo barge, the 2016 7-Series at the Auto Expo. The sixth generation 7-Series (G12) has evolved a lot from the previous model in terms of performance, looks, features and comfort. The front fascia of the new 7-Series looks very sharp and aggressive and the kidney grilles come with the Active Aero function. The vehicle also gets laser headlights which are similar to those on the i8. The headlights get nice detailing in them too.

The side profile of the 7-Series looks very classy and the rear also exudes of a very premium feel. The same premiumness is carried over to the interiors too which boast of a new design, new steering wheel, more features and improved levels of comfort. The 7-Series also gets the new iDrive 5.0 infotainment system. There is also a Bowers and Wilkins audio system with sixteen speakers, Remote Control Parking feature and new HUD screen with 3D graphics.

Under the hood, the 2016 BMW 7-Series gets a 3.0-litre inline-6 diesel engine producing 265 PS of power. The 750i trim gets a massive 4.4-litre V8 belting out 445 HP of power. In global markets, BMW also offers a 740e X-Drive plug-in hybrid variant that gets an electric motor mated to a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, petrol engine. All engines will come mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission. The 7-Series is available via the CKD route and competes with the Mercedes S-Class, Audi A8L and Jaguar XJ-L.
