Honda Amaze Facelift Launch

The 2016 Honda Amaze facelift has not undergone any mechanical updates while some cosmetic changes in and out of the compact sedan can be seen along with a completely revamped dashboard.

The Amaze now gets a revised front fascia which looks fresher than the earlier design

The Honda Amaze was launched in 2013 and it was the first car from the automaker to be powered by a diesel engine. It received a number of minor updates but a major facelift was due for some time now and hence the Japanese automaker launched the 2016 Amaze facelift at a starting price of Rs. 5.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The 2016 Honda Amaze facelift has undergone a number of cosmetic updates and the majority of them can be seen on the front fascia that has received a bigger bumper and redesigned headlamps. The front grille is also redesigned while it houses a thick chrome bar similar to what we see on the Mobilio. The compact sedan also gets turn indicators on the ORVMs and new alloy wheels. The rear gets a new pair of tail lights. The facelift will also be offered in a new metallic blue shade seen on the Brio.

The cabin of the 2016 Honda Amaze facelift has got an all-new dashboard and centre console borrowed from the City. The compact sedan is now equipped with much awaited automatic climate control while the instrument console is also similar to that of the City while the steering wheel and gear lever remain unchanged. Customers of the Amaze can opt for airbags even in the base trims. The Amaze also gets a new audio system with Bluetooth functionality.

Power continues to come from an option of 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, i-DTEC diesel engine producing 99 BHP and 200 Nm of torque and 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, i-VTEC petrol engine giving out 87 BHP and 109 Nm of torque. Both the motors are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Amaze also gets a first-in-segment CVT transmission for the petrol engine. The diesel engine has a fuel efficiency of 25.8 km/l while the petrol engine churns out 17.8 km/l and 18.1 km/l for the manual and CVT variants respectively.

The 2016 Honda Amaze is available in 4 trims – E, S, SX and VX. Apart from this, Honda will also offer E(O) and S(O) trims from 1st May and these variants will come with safety features.
