The recent ban on diesel cars above 2000cc in Delhi has affected Mahindra the most, but the manufacturer seems to be prepared for this scenario as it recently launched sub-2000cc engines for the Scorpio and the XUV500. Another measure by the Indian automaker is developing electric vehicles like the eVerito which has been unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo. It is an electric version of the Verito sedan and sports the same body. The EV is expected to be launched soon with an expected price tag of Rs. 8 lakhs while it will also be benefited by the government’s FAME scheme.

The Mahindra eVerito is powered by the same drivetrain that powers the smaller e2o which produces 41 BHP and 91 Nm of torque in the sedan and delivers a range of 100 kms with a full charged battery while it takes 7 hours to get fully charged and the top speed is claimed to be 86 km/hr. The electric sedan has minor differences on the outside like the chrome bar on the bootlid and the chrome finishes on the front grille while the instrument cluster on the inside  has some changes, rest everything is same as the regular Verito.
