The Datsun Redi-GO will be launched in India in mid-April and deliveries will begin by the end of the month. It will rival the Tata Nano, Maruti Alto and Hyundai Eon.

The Datsun Redi-GO created a lot of buzz when the concept was first unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. This entry-level hatchback from Nissan was pegged with high hopes to be a game-changer in the market. Now, according to the latest vine, it is expected that Nissan will be launching the Datsun Redi-GO in mid-April itself (likely on the 14th).

The Datsun Redi-GO looks cute and sleek and features a very curvy styling. The front of the vehicle is expected to come with the familar Datsun grille while the headlights will look different from the current GO. The side profile looks neat and has a prominent line breaking the monotony. The rear is also expected to be curvy and youthful in appearance.

The interiors of the Datsun Redi-GO haven’t been revealed yet but we expect the insides to be similar to the current GO models. The Redi-GO is likely to come with the same 3-spoke steering wheel and the centre console-mounted handbrake lever. However, Nissan might add some new features to the Redi-GO that are missing in the GO.

Powering the Datsun Redi-GO will be the same 800cc petrol engine that is offered on the Kwid. It produces 53 PS of power and 72 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Datsun Redi-GO will compete with the Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon, Renault Kwid and Tata Nano and we expect it to be priced between Rs. 2.2-3.4 lakhs (ex-showroom).
