BMW Motorrad is reportedly working on a 6-cylinder naked motorcycle likely to feature the 160 PS engine from the K 1600 GT.

The 6-cylinder motorcycle will produce as much as 160 PS of power

BMW Motorrad has an all new 6 cylinder street fighter category bike in the pipeline. This new naked motorcycle is reported to sport the in-line 6-cylinder motor doing duty on BMW’s touring bike, the K 1600 GT.

While the 6 header pipes are sure to catch your eye, the front is dominated by twin projector type head lamps and a simple retro styled console. Those 6 tailpipes at the rear with the fat tyre complete an aggressive, compact design. The engine is shrouded by a massive radiator to cool it down.

The motor powering this unnamed motorcycle is likely to be the oil-cooled and fuel-injected 1649cc engine boasting a power output of 162 PS and 175 Nm of torque. This powertrain is the tried and tested one already seen on the touring focussed K 1600 GT. A 6-speed transmission sends all the power to the rear wheels.

While the front suspension will mostly likely feature the fat USD forks shown in the render, this new offering from BMW Motorrad might sit on the aluminium bridge type frame seen previously on the S1000RR. Expect this bike to be loaded with a host of software and other features keeping in tradition with BMW’s safety-focussed vehicles.

Although the upcoming G310 R currently features in the immediate plans of BMW Motorrad India,  it is expected that this new offering shall make it to our shores too. It will be interesting to see if BMW Motorrad does that.
