Since its announcement, the BMW G310R has been one of the most anticipated two-wheelers in the Indian market. It is the most affordable BMW two-wheeler till date, and the local manufacturing for India, means it will be offered with a mouth-watering price. The hopes for a competitive price tag have indeed gone up, as a showroom in the UK revealed the price of the bike in the UK.

The BMW G310R, which is priced at 4290 Pounds equates to around Rs. 3.89 lakhs. However, due to its Indian localisation, the price in the UK includes export and import duties, which will not be applicable for the units sold in India. This does hint at a lower price tag for India, which would put it right in competition with other contenders. Moreover, the bike costs less than the likes of the KTM Duke 390, Yamaha MT-03 and Kawasaki Z300 that are sold in the UK.

Now if you go on to equate the prices before the export duty, the Indian KTM Duke 390 costs around Rs. 2.15 lakhs while the one sold in the UK costs around Rs. 4.12 lakhs. By this logic, the price of the BMW G310R in India would be close to Rs. 1.8 lakhs, which is lower than its key rival, the Duke 390, which has always been a value prospect in our market undercutting all of its competition.

The BMW G310R comes with a 313cc liquid-cooled engine which has an output of 34 HP of power and 28 Nm of torque. The motorbike will be produced in India by TVS at its Bangalore plant. So the field is set, it is going to be TVS-BMW vs Bajaj-KTM. It all depends on the final official pricing of the G310R on Indian shores.
