Honda has begun its marketing teasers for the iconic CBR250RR that will grace us by end of this year. The CBR250RR is nothing less than a legend which earned its iconic tag majorly due to its engine. The 4-cylinder powerhouse which revved to over 20,000 RPM was responsible for one of the best soundtracks for you to begin your climb in the serious biking leagues.

Much to the disappointment of Honda purists however, the new CBR250RR will come with a twin-cylinder engine rather than a 4-cylinder one. This will rob the bike of its distinct character, but Honda justifies this move by saying the engine will be just as soulful. While the engine may be a disputable character, there is no doubt that the motorcycle looks nothing short of awesome. With looks like these, we would not be one bit surprised if it came with a bat cave and a butler.

The 16 second teaser does good when it comes to not revealing the Honda CBR250RR, and at the same time creating immense hype. We can expect Honda to release some more details over the months to keep the hype alive till the official launch of the bike. The silhouette looks strikingly similar to the images leaked earlier, and we can see subtle details like Nissin brake callipers with ABS, an aggressive riding posture due to the racing clip-ons and upside down forks up front.

The Honda CBR250RR will be powered by a 250cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which is expected to produce around 40 HP of power and 30 Nm of torque. A 350cc version is rumoured to be launched later in the western markets. The engines will be mated to a 6-speed transmission. The Indian launch will mostly not happen but if it does, the bike will go against the Yamaha R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300, and will indirectly rival the KTM RC 390 too. While all these bikes have higher displacement figures, the Honda’s light-weight might compensate for the power disadvantage.
