After a long delay, FCA is finally launching the Jeep brand in India on the 30th of August. Jeep sales start from two dealers in the country.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Review
Aggressive styling and true SUV DNA is what the Jeep products will offer

Arguably the most iconic SUV manufacturer of all, Jeep is finally making its way to Indian shores. A part of Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), had been testing their vehicles in India for a long time now and had been delaying their arrival into the Indian car market.

We were recently treated to the Jeep arsenal at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this year. The Grand Cherokee and Wrangler will lead the assault on the other SUVs which will be taken further ahead when the SRT performance brand will follow with the entry of the Grand Cherokee SRT in India.

Jeep intends to commence operations in India by starting with two dealerships, one each in Delhi and Ahmedabad. This will be followed by a dealership in Kochi and another one in Mumbai. Ahmedabad based Jeep dealership will be handled by Concept Motors and the Kochi one is to be taken care of by Pinnacle Motors.

The good news for the performance loving, SUV raving and the ones who can really afford is that they can get their hands on the Grand Cherokee SRT as this will be the only model which can be sold in Delhi due to the ongoing ban on diesel engines of 2000cc and above. Talk about ‘Blessing in Disguise;.

The Jeep Wrangler will come with a 2.8-litre diesel engine in the long wheelbase ‘Unlimited’ variant to India. Prices are expected to hover around the Rs. 40 lakh mark. The Grand Cherokee will get a 3.0-litre diesel engine and will probably hover around the Rs. 75 lakh mark. The Grand Cherokee SRT is expected to reach north of Rs. 1.1 crores.
