Hyundai has silently equipped the top-end Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O) with side and curtain airbags. Now, it is equipped with total six airbags.
The previous generation Hyundai i20 was equipped with the side and curtain airbags in the top-end variant, but Hyudai skipped it in the Elite i20. The Hyundai Elite i20 will now come standard with dual front airbags across all variants and gets six airbags on the range topping Asta(O) variant. There are no other changes in the Elite i20 apart from the added airbags.
The revised prices for the Asta (O) variant of the Hyundai Elite i20 are Rs. 7.76 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi) for the petrol variant and Rs. 8.99 lakhs for the diesel variant. The hatch is already loaded with advanced features and now the additional airbags make it a very appealing package with the safety kit as an option.
Hyundai Elite i20 holds a long feature list having 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, keyless entry and go, 8-speaker stereo, rake and reach steering, rear AC vent, reversing camera, chilled glove box and lots more. The Asta (O) variant of the Elite i20 gets additional equipments of a 7-inch Audio Video Navigation system, 60:40 split rear seats and projector headlamps with cornering function.
Hyundai Elite i20 is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol motor and a 1.4-litre diesel motor. The 1.2-litre VTVT petrol motor produces 82 BHP and 115 Nm of torque, which is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel motor churns out a healthy 89 BHP and 220 Nm of torque linked to a six-speed manual gearbox. It is expected that Hyundai may introduce the Elite i20 with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
