2017 Maruti Swift DZire has been spied on test with full camouflage for the first time in India, the compact sedan will be launched before the new gen Swift hatch.
The Maruti Swift DZire is one of the biggest selling cars in India, maintaining the top second spot or sometimes even the top spot for monthly sales. The new gen 2017 Maruti Swift DZire has been spied now for the first time wearing heavy camouflage but giving out its typical sub 4-metre design.
The new generation DZire is based on the yet to be revealed new Swift. Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the compact sedan first around mid-2017 and then launch the new generation Swift hatchback during the festive season of 2017. This will be the third generation of the DZire since its launch in 2008.
The new design language of the Swift siblings will get a sporty appearance both inside out. The interior layout will be similar but the DZire will get lighter colour tones for a good sense of space. There will be new features on offer including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among other gadgetry.
Engine options for the new gen DZire will include the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel. Maruti is developing a new 1.5-litre diesel engine in-house but it’s utilisation in the new Swift siblings is not yet confirmed. However, the DZire will come with both 5-speed manual and AMT options.
Maruti has postponed the launch of the new Ignis and Baleno RS. The two hatchbacks will be launched in early 2017 and post that they will be working on the Swift siblings. Maruti has quite a lot of products planned for the coming years and this will include new engine options and tech like SHVS hybrid for petrol engines.
