BMW X3 & BMW X5 petrol India launch very soon

There is a considerable rise in demand for petrol powered cars recently in India. There are a few reasons including the shortening gap between petrol and diesel fuel price and also the recent Delhi NCR diesel ban. Carmakers have started introducing petrol variants even in SUVs and now BMW is ready to do the same with the X3 and X5.

BMW India will be importing the X3 xDrive 28i and X5 xDrive 35i via the CKD route to keep the pricing in check. Both the SUVs are currently available with two diesel engine options including 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre engines. The X5 is also available in its range topping X5 M variant with a 4.4-litre turbo petrol engine.

The German automaker recently introduced the 3-Series and 5-Series with petrol variants as well but they are directly imported via CBU. We expect BMW to launch more petrol powered variants across its portfolio. The X3 and X5 also have petrol rivals in the Mercedes lineup.
