Bookings for Lexus cars in India have finally commenced ahead of the company’s official launch in March 2017.
Since the past many years, the launch of Toyota’s luxury sub-brand Lexus has been widely speculated. However, it has now been confirmed that Lexus will make its way to India in March 2017. The company will initially start off with 3 vehicles and bookings for the vehicles have already begun.
The first dealership for Lexus will be located in Mumbai, at Taj Santacruz which is near the airport. The dealership will be operational much ahead of the official launch but deliveries of vehicles won’t begin before March. As of now, all the vehicles will be brought down as CBUs but later on the company might consider local assembly.
Lexus will launch the RX450h, ES300h and LX450d/LX 570 in India. The ES300h is likely to be priced around Rs. 75 lakhs while the RX450h will cost approximately Rs. 1.2 crore. The LX range of SUVs will cost anywhere between Rs. 2-2.15 crores (all prices ex-showroom). Toyota is aiming to provide an excellent sales and service experience to customers.
The company will also offer a lot of different service and warranty schemes. Initially, cities like Mumbai, Gurgaon, Delhi and Bengaluru will get dealerships. By the end of 2017, more dealerships will be opened in cities like Chandigarh, Cochin and Chennai.
