The 2017 Chevrolet Beat facelift has been spotted completely undisguised ahead of its launch.

The 2017 Chevrolet Beat facelift has been spied testing undisguised on Indian roads. The overall design language in the new spy shots is very similar to the Beat Essentia and Beat Active showcased to the Indian audience at the Auto Expo earlier this year.

The new pictures reveal the new design for the headlamps, a sleek grille with chrome accents and a new front bumper with integrated fog lamps. The front fascia is exactly identical to that of the Essentia sedan previewed at the Auto Expo. The tail lamps have been revised and the rear bumper is completely new, now housing the registration plate. It retains the overall silhouette of the original Beat.

The current engine options on the Chevrolet Beat will continue to do the duty on the new hatchback. The 1.0-litre oil burner churns out 57 HP of power and 150 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.2-litre petrol mill develops 79 HP of power and 108 Nm of twisting force. The engines will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

The Chevrolet Beat facelift will be launched in early 2017. The newer model is expected to get more equipment and a longer feature list given the competition is miles ahead in this regard. It is among the five models that the company plans to bring to the Indian market in 2017. The other four are Essentia, Beat Activ, new TrailBlazer and next generation Cruze sedan.

Once launched, the Beat will go up against rivals such as the Hyundai Grand i10, Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Celerio and even the new generation Maruti Swift. Pricing is a key factor in the Indian market which can make or break a product. Expect the Beat to get a marginal price hike with the launch of the facelift.
