Maruti Ignis Launch
The car has been displayed on the NEXA website with glowing DRLs

With the hopes of yet another successful product, Maruti is all set to launch its crossover hatchback the Ignis. The car has been in the news for a long time and people who trust Maruti are eagerly waiting for it to arrive. To all of them, your wait is about to end as the Ignis has been teased on the NEXA website reporting that it’s coming soon. Though we cannot make a statement on its exact launch duration, expect it to hit the markets by January 2017.

The company website also consists of a form to be filled by interested customers. The registered members will get an official update about the car and notifications about the launch. The concept version of the Maruti Ignis was displayed to viewers at the 2016 Auto Expo and is indeed the replacement of the Ritz. Not much of the design will differ to that of the concept version.

The Maruti Ignis has been designed in a boxy way with squarish headlamps, simple straight front grille and round shaped fog lamps. The A and B pillars have been blacked out with the wheel arches being beefed up. The U-shaped LED DRLs add up to the appearance of the Ignis.

Under the hood, the Maruti Ignis is expected to carry a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine option, both of them will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Perhaps, a CVT automatic gearbox option will be available in the petrol trim.
