The most-awaited Suzuki Ignis scored 3-stars in the Euro New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) crash test. The results are quite awe-inspiring, as it scored 3 stars for standard equipment trim and maximum score of 5 stars for the safety pack. The Ignis is the standard version for the European-spec version and has no gait on cars made for other markets.

The model that was tested came with the DualJet petrol engine with SHVS and it weighed 820 kgs. The vehicle without the safety pack scored 79% for child and adult occupancy protection along with 67% for Pedestrian Safety and 25% for Safety Assist Systems. The vehicle with the safety pack scored 87% for adult protection, 79% for child protection, 77% for pedestrian protection and 60% for Safety Assist Systems.

Euro NCAP is a European car safety performance assessment programme based in Brussels (Belgium). The Suzuki Ignis for the European market comes with touchscreen entertainment system with navigation, LED headlamps, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and a choice of 14 body colours including five two-tone colours (with a black roof).

The Ignis has created a lot of whir on various platforms and it is one of the most-awaited products in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki Ignis is all set to make inroads into the Indian market in 2017 and it will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options.
