KTM has launched the 2017 Duke 200 in India and before you get too excited, you should know, it’s not the second generation model. Instead, KTM has chosen to update the existing Duke 200 with aesthetic changes while mechanically it remains the same. To start off with, the motorcycle now gets new graphics and the alloy wheels gets the trademark orange colour.

KTM could have launched the second generation Duke 200 but that would have increased the price of what is the Austrian automaker’s entry-level bike for India. The motorcycle is powered by the same 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which pumps out 25 HP of power and 19 Nm of torque, matched to a 6-speed gearbox and the engine is now BS-IV compliant.

KTM’s decision to offer the existing Duke 200 with cosmetic updates has solely been to retain prices and the updated model is priced at Rs. 1.43 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is available in 3 colours – Orange, White and Black. The Duke 200 competes with the Bajaj Dominar 400, Yamaha FZ25, Mahindra Mojo and Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.
