Ford had recently unveiled the Ford Ka Trail at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in 2016. The vehicle is supposed to be launched somewhere by the end of 2017 in Brazil while the Indian launch will take place later in 2018.

Now coming back to the car, the Ka Trail has a higher ground clearance and it gets body cladding. The car gets 15-inch alloy wheels and it also comes with roof rails to give it a crossover feeling. On the sides, the Ka Trail comes with “Trail” branding in orange colour. Now coming to the interiors, the vehicle comes with leather seats in a flashy orange colour with green stitching. The car gets sporty metal pedals while the door sills get the Trail logo.

The engines used in the Ford Ka Trail are the 1.0-litre TiVCT and the 1.5-litre Sigma units. Both the engines run on petrol. The 1.0-litre engine produces 80 HP of power and 100 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre engine produces 110 HP of power and 146 Nm of torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard.

The Ford Ka Trail is expected to come in India with the same engines as the current Figo. Ford is planning to name this crossover the Figo Cross for the Indian market. When launched, this car will compete against the Fiat Avventura, Hyundai i20 Active, Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo.
