The front fascia is very similar to that of the Tiago

The Tata Kite 5 was showcased a year back at the 2016 Auto Expo and it got a very positive response. The company has been testing the car and the compact sedan is going to be launched in March 2017. The vehicle was earlier going to be launched in January 2017 but dealerships weren’t ready to cater to new car launches.

The name of the Tata Kite 5 isn’t confirmed but it is likely to be Altigo or Viago. The vehicle is based on the Tiago which has been a hit in the Indian market. The Kite 5 shares its front fascia with the Tiago. Even the layout of the interiors will remain the same but expect the sedan to get some more features.

The Tata Kite 5 will be powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron and 1.05-litre Revotorq engines that are also offered on the Tiago. When launched, the Kite 5 will compete with the Maruti Swift DZire, Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo and Honda Amaze but it will be priced quite attractively.
