The twin-cylinder Royal Enfield will have a parallel-twin layout

Royal Enfield has big plans to increase its dominance in the middle-weight segment. The company is looking at entering new markets as evident by its launch in Brazil just recently. The British brand has been working on a twin-cylinder bike which is rumoured to displace 750cc. The said motorcycle was spotted testing earlier in Spain and was now spotted in India.

The Royal Enfield twin-cylinder bike will use a parallel-twin layout and seems to be based on the Continental GT, as evident by the Cafe Racer look. However, there are significant changes which can be seen on the chassis although Royal Enfield could just be using the Continental GT’s body as a disguise.

The twin exhausts are an instant giveaway about the twin-cylinder engine on this Royal Enfield motorbike. It gets a new rear suspension, left positioning of the chain and sprocket, and new turn indicators. The awaited thumper will produce upwards of 50 BHP of power and around 60 Nm of torque. It will compete with the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and is due for launch by the end of the year.

Using a twin-cylinder engine has many advantages as vibrations on twins is much lesser with the motor being way more refined. This however comes at a cost which is pricing and the twin-cylinder Royal Enfield is expected to cost upwards of Rs. 3 lakhs.
