The Maruti Baleno RS has been launched in India, priced at Rs. 8.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Maruti has finally launched the Baleno RS which is a performance-oriented version of the regular Baleno. The Baleno RS comes with some cosmetic enhancements along with a new engine. The hot hatch has been priced at Rs. 8.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it is based on the Alpha trim of the hatchback.

The Maruti Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged BoosterJet petrol engine producing 100 HP of power at 5500 RPM and 150 Nm of torque from 1700-4500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the front wheels. The Baleno RS has a ground clearance of 170 mm.

On the equipment front, the Baleno RS comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, alloy wheels, automatic climate control, electric ORVMs, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic projector headlamps, keyless entry and an MID.

The Maruti Baleno RS competes with the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Abarth Punto.
