The 2017 Kawasaki Z250 has been re-launched in India and it complies with BS4 emission norms.

Kawasaki Z250 Pricing
The 2017 Kawasaki Z250 BS4 is identical to the BS3 model it replaces

The Kawasaki Z250 was launched in India in 2015 but hasn’t found many takers as the motorcycle doesn’t justify its price tag. However, being Kawasaki’s entry-level offering for India, Kawasaki has re-launched the Z250 after it was discontinued earlier this month due to non-compliance with the latest emission norms. The Japanese automaker has launched the BS4 version of the Z250 which is priced at Rs. 3.09 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune).

The 2017 Kawasaki Z250 gets no changes at all, it continues with the same mechanicals although the motor sees revisions to emit less. The 249cc, parallel-twin engine produces 32 PS of power at 11,000 RPM and 21 Nm of torque at 10,000 RPM, matched to a 6-speed gearbox. Even though the bike meets stricter emission norms, output numbers have been retained.

The Kawasaki Z250 misses out on ABS with braking duties being taken care by a 290 mm petal disc up front and a 220 mm petal disc at the rear. With a 17-litre fuel tank, the Z250 has a good touring range. However, given the CKD route of bringing this motorcycle to India, the entry-level Kwacker doesn’t offer any bang for the buck and thus sells in low numbers. We were hoping Kawasaki would bring the Z300 to India instead.
