The North American Technical Center of Mahindra has already commenced working on the fourth generation Scorpio, and it will go global.
Mahindra’s North American Technical Center has started work on the fourth generation Scorpio. Expected to hit the tarmac in the year 2020, this new SUV will be made on an enhanced architecture and will be designed and equipped to take on international markets. Yes you heard it right, Mahindra wants this Scorpio to be a global seller.
Mahindra will also be building a pick-up truck for the US market which will be based on the Scorpio. Top officials have revealed that work on the Scorpio has already commenced but declined to provide further details. Codenamed Z101, this platform shall be the second conceptualised platform from the North American Technical Center after the U321, that will rival the Toyota Innova Crysta.
In spite of the Renault Duster and the Hyundai Creta entering the market, the Mahindra Scorpio has been consistently doing great monthly volumes and contributing to the company’s profitability. The new generation Scorpio, will take the game a notch higher. It shall wear a new design language and Mahindra is expected to integrate its various design houses for the same. The 2020 Mahindra Scorpio will rival the Tata Q501 SUV which is due for launch next year.
