The 2017 Mahindra XUV500 has been launched, gets more features and a new Lakeside Brown colour.

Mahindra has launched the 2017 XUV500 with a host of tech-savvy features that include Android Auto, Connected Apps, Ecosense and Emergency Call. All these features come integrated in the touchscreen infotainment system, and shall be available starting from the W6 variant at a price of Rs. 13.80 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Mahindra has also added a new Lakeside Brown colour on the W10 variant as well.

Talking about the added features, Android Auto lets the user connect an Android device and access calls, messages, navigation, music via the infotainment system. It comes with a simple user interface and integrated steering controls. The Connected Apps lets the user access India specific apps like Gaana, Zomato, BookMyShow, etc. on the infotainment system. The user needs to connect the infotainment system to a WiFi hotspot to access the Connected Apps.

Ecosense as the name suggests, is a feature that aids the driver in fuel-efficient driving. Every drive, the driver gets an Ecoscore out of 100, based on various driving parameters. Also during the drive, the infotainment system keeps displaying the average Ecoscore. Last but not the least, the Emergency Call is a feature that sends a text to the two pre-set contact numbers in case of an unfortunate event when airbags are deployed.

The XUV500 comes with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 140 HP of power and 330 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to 6-speed manual as well as automatic transmissions. There’s also 1.99-litre diesel engine on offer for Delhi NCR. The XUV500 comes feature loaded with AWD (all-wheel drive), 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, beige leather seats, automatic climate control, reverse parking camera, cruise control, follow-me-home headlamps and the list goes on.
