Tata will be making a hatchback on the Moflex platform, expected to come with an all-electric powertrain only.

Small Hatchback On The Moflex Platform
The upcoming electric hatchback could be dubbed as the Tata Nano

At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors launched their mobility brand TAMO and also unveiled their very first sportscar (Tata and… sportscars?), yeah you heard it right. Christened the Racemo, a sportscar that will be based on the Moflex platform. Now we have news that the Indica maker will be developing a small hatchback on this same Moflex platform.

This small hatchback could come with an all-electric powertrain only. High-set seats and an extremely short wheelbase might define this small hatch. As far as the powertrain is concerned, the company is testing all-electric powertrains internationally with its European Technical Centre already having developed a one-off Battery Electric Vehicle.

Tata Motors could dub this small hatchback as the Nano and revive the brand, however, these are all speculations right now. Only time will tell if the Tata Nano gets a second generation or just remains etched in the history books as the cheapest car to have ever been launched in the world.
