The 2017 Volkswagen Polo has been spotted completely undisguised well ahead of its unveil the next month. Expect Volkswagen to launch the new Polo in the second half of 2017.

The Polo will be entering its sixth generation and there are noticeable changes to the car. Upfront, there’s a new headlamp setup with LED signature light guides. The headlamps itself are a more sleeker unit that are merged into the single-slat radiator grille. The front bumper sees some minor tweaks as well.

Not much changes to the side profile of the car except for the new set of alloys. However, the rear sees tweaked tail lamp graphics, redesigned tailgate and bumper. The Polo sits on the MQB A0 global platform and does away with the PQ25 platform. The MQB A0 global platform is a more safer and a lighter platform than the PQ25 platform.

Volkswagen is expected to offer the 1.5-litre TSI unit from the 2017 Golf and a 2.0-litre TSI unit producing around 200 HP in the GTI variant. 1.2-litre TDi and a 1.6-litre TDi diesel engines too will be on offer for the European markets. Transmission choices will be a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Polo will be manufactured at the Navarra facility in Spain and production will commence the next month.
