The much anticipated MV Agusta Brutale 800 will be launching in India the next month and is expected to be priced close to Rs. 15 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The motorcycle was supposed to be launched last year but now the 2017 model is undergoing homologation and has been brought to India as the SKD (Semi Knocked Down) kits and assembled here at the Kinetic plant.

The 2017 iteration of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 gets some styling updates like the sculpted lines on the fuel tank, full LED headlights with LED DRLs, new fender and redesigned tail section, redesigned passenger seat with concealed grab handles, revised tail-light, LED blinkers and new instrument panel, handlebar and controls.

While the chassis of the motorcycle has seen some changes with a longer wheelbase and an extended trail, MV Agusta has retained the signature slashed 3-pipe exhaust and the muscular lines. The MV Agusta Brutale gets a revised powerplant, a 796cc in-line three-cylinder with 12-valves and counter-rotating crankshaft which generate 109 HP and 83 Nm of torque. MV Agusta says that this torque is available from as low as 3800 RPM.

The MV Agusta Brutale 800 also features a ride-by-wire system with different riding modes, 8 level traction control system and an electronic EAS (Electronically Assisted Shift) 2.0 shift assist for clutchless shifts and a hydraulic slipper clutch. The motorcycle comes suspended via 43 mm Marzocchi forks up-front and a Sachs monoshock unit at the rear, mounted on to the single-sided swingarm.

The motorcycle comes with twin 320 mm discs with Brembo callipers up-front and a single 220 mm disc at the rear. The discs feature a dual channel ABS from Bosch and this naked middle-weight runs on Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3 rubber. The Brutale 800 will be more expensive than its competitors, the Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki Z900 and Ducati Monster 821. Something as exotic as an MV Agusta, definitely will come at a price.
