The Fiat Argo could replace the existing Punto

Fiat is all set to replace the Punto hatchback with the Argo in the Brazilian market with a launch scheduled very soon. Fiat has also indicated that it will be launching the Argo in other markets as well.

Well, does that ‘other markets’ include India? Reports suggest that Fiat Argo’s India launch is under consideration. Like in Brazil, if launched in India, the Argo will replace the Punto here too. As of now, there are no official timelines being revealed by Fiat, but we expect the Argo to make it to Indian shores by the end of 2018 or early 2019.

With images of the Fiat Argo already surfacing before the launch, the vehicle sports an edgy design. The sweptback headlamps, wide grille and a wide air dam on the bumper make the car look stylish. At the side, there are precision cut alloy wheels again adding to the style quotient and sharp character lines running across the doors. The rear gets wraparound twin-section tail-lights.

The Fiat Argo is offered in three engine options in Brazil – a 1.0-litre, a 1.3-litre and a 1.5-litre petrol engine. However there are no details on the powertrains to be offered in the India-spec model, but when brought to India, expect Fiat to give it both petrol as well as diesel engine options.
