2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Launched, Priced At Rs. 94.4 Lakhs

2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado price is Rs. 94.4 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the sole VXL trim on offer.

Exterior dimensions of 4840 x 1885 x 1880 mm (length x width x height) give the Prado immense road presence

Cheery with the public response at the 2018 Auto Expo, Toyota has launched the facelifted 2018 Land Cruiser Prado in India. Priced at Rs. 94.4 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the Prado is nowhere close to be called as pocket-friendly but manages to bridge the gap between the relatively mainstream Fortuner and the legendary Land Cruiser LC 200 in Toyota’s lineup rather well. While exterior and interior changes were clearly evident at the showcase event itself, let us talk about the updates in a more precise manner.

On the outside, the first thing to catch your attention is the sharper face which seems to be inspired from the Fortuner. The all-black cabin has been given significant updates and feels spacious and upmarket with thorough use of leather upholstery. Despite its underlying robustness, the Prado comes with a number of modern features including LED projector headlamps with washers, moon roof, LED fog lamps, 3 zone climate control, parking assist system, powered and heated seats, Optitron instrumentation and much more. The touchscreen infotainment unit supports USB, Aux-in, FM, CD and bluetooth connectivity and presents its output through a 9 speaker system.

Powering the Land Cruiser Prado is a familiar 3.0-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder diesel engine that comes paired to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The D-4D engine produces 173 PS of power at 3400 RPM and 410 Nm of torque from 1600-2800 RPM to propel the 2990 kg body-on-frame beast. Staying true to its rough road credentials, Toyota Prado comes with Adaptive Variable Suspension, multi-terrain ABS, 5-speed crawl control and panoramic view monitor. Also on offer are a total of 7 airbags, vehicle stability control and active front headrests.

The gargantuan colour palette and Prado’s vast dimensions are a match made in heaven! The colour options on this behemoth include White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Metallic, Grey Metallic, Blackish Ageha Glass Flake, Attitude Black Mica, Red Mica Metallic, Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic and Vintage Brown Pearl Crystal Shine.
