Audi has officially unveiled the 2019 R8 Coupe and Spyder.

The R8 gets a new front splitter and sportier air intakes

Audi has officially unveiled the 2019 R8 Coupe and Spyder. These facelifted models get an aggressive styling with more powerful engines. The R8 is all set to be sold in Europe by early 2019 followed by India launch expected later.

The Audi R8 now gets a wider single-frame grille and three slats between the hood and the grille. The car gets a new front splitter and sportier air intakes. Audi is offering a new three-piece engine cover that is available in either plastic or carbon fibre. Additional exterior options include various highlights to the front splitter, side trims and rear diffuser.

On the inside, it gets new colour options – pastel silver with contrast rock grey stitching, palomino brown with steel grey stitching and black with utopia blue stitching. The top-spec R8 will also be available with an R8 performance design package – leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as carbon fibre trim and Mercato blue accents.

Powering the Audi R8 V10 is the upgraded engine that now churns out 570 PS and 550 Nm of peak torque. The R8 accelerates from 0-100 km/hr in 3.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 324 km/hr. The higher tuned V10 engine produces 620 PS and 580 Nm of torque, that enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 331 km/hr.

In addition to these, the updated model also gets revised suspension that offers more stability, improved steering system offers better feedback, 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels help to offer precise handling and there is an improved Electronic Stabilisation Control system. Audi offers two new colours in the R8 – Kemora Grey and Ascari Blue while there is a high-gloss black badges option too.
