2019 BMW X5 Leaked Ahead Of Its Debut This Month

2019 BMW X5 images & details leaked online; car is bigger in dimensions than the current model.

The 2019 BMW X5 will also be offered in the M Sport variant

The 2019 BMW X5 images and details have been leaked online well ahead of its debut on 25th June 2018. The luxury SUV will go on sale in Europe later this year and is expected to be launched in India sometime next year. If sources are to be believed, the BMW X4 will be launched in India before the new X5.

Starting off with the design and styling, the 2019 BMW X5 takes a lot of inspiration from other Bimmers. For instance, the headlamps with tweaked corona rings and new BMW Laserlight technology, the aggressively styled front bumper and the massive kidney grille (with Active air flaps) all bear resemblances to the X4. The SUV gets huge 22-inch wheels (expect the India-spec model to get smaller wheels) and slim LED tail-lights. Overall, the vehicle is larger in terms of dimensions than the current model.

The cabin of the 2019 BMW X5 also gets a major makeover. The dashboard is neatly laid-out and also comes loaded with a host of features. There is a third-gen head-up display, BMW Live Cockpit Professional (comprises of two 12.3-inch screens, one is for the instrument cluster and one for the infotainment) and wireless charging. The German automaker will also offer a Bowers & Wilkins 3D Surround Sound system and Parking Assistant Plus in the new X5. Wheelbase has grown by 42 mm to 2975 mm and with the third-row seats folded, cargo space is a huge 645-litres.

The 2019 BMW X5 will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol range comprises of a 3.0-litre turbocharged motor that produces 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque and a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged powerplant which makes 462 PS and 650 Nm of torque. Coming to the diesel options, a 3.0-litre turbocharged engine will be offered in two different tunes – 256 PS of power with 620 Nm of torque and 400 PS of power with 745 Nm of torque. All models will get the BMW xDrive AWD system and an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The India-spec X5 is likely to get the 256 PS 3.0-litre diesel engine and the 3.0-litre petrol engine only.
