5 Features That Will Make The Figo The Perfect Hatchback

Here are 5 features that we feel might have made the recently launched Figo facelift the perfect hatchback.

The facelifted Figo is now even more appealing and value for money

Ford recently launched the Figo facelift that gets mild cosmetic changes, feature updates and new engine options compared to the older model. The new Figo is fairly feature-rich now. The list of features include rain sensing wipers, auto headlights, reverse camera and parking sensors, 7″ touchscreen infotainment system with in-built navigation, push-button start and 6 airbags among others. Moreover, the automatic variant also features ESP and HSA. However, we feel that Ford could’ve added these 5 features to make the Figo unbeatable. Have a look:

Projector headlights and DRLs could have made the 2019 Figo even more sporty

Projector Headlights

The new Figo gets a new grille up front and looks fresher than before. It does, however, miss out on a projector headlight setup. Nowadays, projector headlights are becoming a trend and new age buyers love this feature. Not only does this improve the overall looks of the car, but also aids in better illumination in the dark. Figo’s rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Swift gets projector headlights in its top-spec trim. The Ford Figo also misses out on DRLs. Cars like the Datsun redi-GO which cost a lot lesser also get LED DRLs. Ford could’ve added these in order to enhance the car’s appeal.

Ford has equipped the Figo with a push button start/stop system but no request sensors for keyless entry

Passive Entry

The Ford Figo finally gets a push-button start/stop system, it had been long due as its siblings, the Freestyle and Aspire have had it for quite some time now. However, like the Freestyle and the Aspire, even the Figo misses out on keyless entry. Generally, manufacturers that provide cars with push-button start/stop system equip them with request sensors for passive keyless entry. Figo’s rivals the Swift and Grand i10 both get passive keyless entry with push-button start/stop system in their top two variants.

The facelifted Figo’s touchscreen infotainment system misses out on Ford’s SYNC 3 system

SYNC Infotainment System

Ford has finally provided a touchscreen infotainment system with the facelifted Figo. However, this 7″ system misses out on Ford’s latest SYNC 3 UI. Ford’s Freestyle and Aspire both get the SYNC infotainment system that allows Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Even though the infotainment system provided with the Figo is smooth to use and provides a good amount of information, it’s nowhere as cool as the SYNC 3 system. Rival cars like the Swift and the Grand i10 offer Apple CarPlay and Android Connectivity in their range-topping variants.

The rear seat of the new Ford Figo misses out on a centre headrest

Rear Centre Headrest

The Ford Figo has always been one of the most spacious cars in its segment. This time around Ford was expected to provide the Figo with a rear centre headrest to make it more comfortable to seat three people in the rear seat. However, it misses out on this feature. Moreover, Ford could’ve equipped the Figo with a rear centre armrest with cup holders if not with a headrest. Cars from a segment below, like the Renault Kwid gets a rear centre armrest with cup holders. The Figo also misses out on some essential features like 60:40 folding rear seats and door pockets for the rear doors.

The 2019 Figo still doesn’t get an electromagnetic tailgate opener

Electromagnetic Tailgate Opener

The facelifted Figo still doesn’t get the option of an electromagnetic tailgate opener. While it was one of the features that was sorely missed on the pre-facelift model, it was expected to arrive with the facelift. However, Ford still hasn’t equipped the Figo with it. As a result, there is no way to access the Figo’s boot keyless. Almost all of Figo’s rivals get an electromagnetic tailgate opener as standard.
