2020 Honda City Hatchback Design Revealed

New Honda City based hatchback leaked in patent images.

The front profile looks exactly like the sedan

The new fifth generation Honda City is about to launch in the Indian market next month. The new generation sedan comes with a new design language from Honda. Based on the new City, the Japanese carmaker is readying a new hatchback.

The Honda City based hatchback patent images have been leaked and it reveals new details of the hatch. The front profile looks very similar to the sedan having sleek LED headlights, signature Honda grille and similar bonnet design.

The side profile is where the hatch looks unique and rather long. Up to the C-pillar it carries the elements of the sedan and beyond that it gets the hatchback treatment.

The rear looks heavily inspired by the new Mercedes A-Class. It comes with sleek tail lights and a sporty bumper. You can expect same dashboard design like the sedan with similar features on offer.

The Honda City hatchback version will be introduced in the Chinese market first. The new Honda Jazz that has been revealed globally of late won’t be launched in certain markets including India.

So we can expect the City based hatchback to be launched as a successor to the current gen Jazz on sale in India. However, that won’t happen anytime soon as the Japanese carmaker will introduce yet another update for the current Jazz in our country with BS6 diesel and petrol engine options.

For now the enthusiasts and loyal City owners are eagerly waiting for the sedan to launch in India. It comes with 1.0-litre turbo i-VTEC in the international market but we will get the same 1.5-litre diesel and petrol BS6 engines in India.
