2020 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Spied

The 2020 Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 with an FI engine has been spied for the first time.

The bike is expected to enter Indian markets early next year

The 2020 Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle is expected to arrive in India early next year with a BS6-compliant engine and a handful of cosmetic and exterior changes. Images of the bike have revealed a refreshed retro instrument cluster and new switchgear with rotary dials instead of the regular kill switch. A similar mechanism is present to lighten up and dim the halogen headlamp.

The next generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 is expected to offer a 6-speed transmission as the gearbox casing bears resemblance to the 650 Twins. The difference in the header implies the engine cubic capacity could increase from 346cc to an approximate 375cc or more. Royal Enfield could also offer the 2020 Classic 350 with two variants, a fuel-injected variant along with the traditional non-Fi, air-cooled layout.

If the 2020 Royal Enfield Classic 350 gets a 6-speed transmission, it will increase the performance numbers. Reportedly, the updated motorcycle is based on the J platform that underpins the next-generation BS6 Classic, Bullet, Thunderbird and Himalayan series. It is expected to be underpinned by a double cradle chassis with a slight fall in kerb weight. Updates such as a reworked exhaust routing, new horn, repositioned brake lever, etc. will be offered on the new model. As of now, the 346cc variant produces 20 PS of power and a peak torque of 28 Nm.

It is likely that Royal Enfield will retain the telescopic front forks and twin shock rear absorber for suspension along with a standard dual-channel ABS system. Currently, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 retails for Rs. 1.53 lakh (ex-showroom). It is safe to expect a hike of at least Rs 25,000/- for the new generation.
