2020 Triumph Tiger 900 Revealed, India Bound

2020 Triumph Tiger 900 has been revealed. It is a replacement for the Tiger 800 lineup. The British premium bike maker has introduced a new design direction in its latest adventure motorcycle along with more features.

The Triumph Tiger 900 is offered in Base, Rally, Rally Pro, GT and GT Pro variants. The Rally variants are off-road focused while the GT variants are on-road performance (touring) focused versions.

The design language on the Tiger 900 is new with a fresh LED headlight that comes with a new LED DRL design. The bike has a more aggressive stance and looks less bulky than the 800 siblings with a sharp front profile.

It comes with a huge TFT display with smartphone connectivity. It enables phone calls, GPS navigation, music operation and GoPro control from the joystick control of the bike. It also comes with heated seats and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Tiger 900 comes with a new engine that makes it more powerful and a new chassis which makes it lighter than the outgoing range of Tiger 800.

The new bike is powered by a 888cc, liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder engine that churns out 93.9 HP at 8750 RPM and 87 Nm at 7250 RPM, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. 

It gets fully adjustable Showa 45 mm inverted front fork with 9.5 inches of travel. Spring-preload and electronically adjustable rebound-damping Showa rear shock with 9.1 inches of travel.

There are up to 6 riding modes on offer. The Rally Pro comes with Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road, Rider-configurable and Off-Road Pro modes. GT Pro gets Rain, Road, Sport, Off-Road and Rider-configurable. Rally and GT get Rain, Road, Sport and Off-Road. The base version only gets Rain and Road modes.

The Triumph Tiger 900 is likely to be launched in India sometime later in 2020. It competes with KTM 790 Adventure and BMW F 850 GS.
