2021 Ducati Monster Launched, Priced From Rs. 10.99 Lakhs

Ducati has sold more than 3.50 lakh Monsters since its introduction back in 1993

The 2021 Ducati Monster Plus comes with a price tag of Rs. 11.24 lakhs (ex-showroom)

Ducati has introduced the 2021 Monster with a staring price of Rs. 10.99 lakhs, today in India. The 2021 Monster Plus costs from Rs. 11.24 lakhs (prices are ex-showroom).

Built from the ground up, the new Monster looks purposeful with its oval headlight, muscular fuel tank, dual exhausts and a clean tail. The Monster Plus features a small flyscreen and pillion seat cover in addition.

The TFT display features racing graphics inspired by the Panigale V4

Both variants of the new Monster are available in Aviator Grey (with red wheels), Ducati Red and Dark Stealth (both with black wheels) colour choices.

Power comes from a 937cc, Testastretta 11-degree L-twin which churns 111 HP at 9250 RPM and 93 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. It is mated to a new 6-speed gearbox that features a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.

Although the power and torque figures are par for the course in the class that the Monster competes in, it has the advantage of being a light machine.

The new Monster weighs 18 kg less than the Monster 821

Ducati managed shave off 2.4 kg with the new engine (compared with the previous Monster 821’s motor), while the new aluminium frame (weighing only 3 kg) is 4.5 kg lighter than the trellis unit it replaces.

Further, the swingarm is lighter by 1.6 kg, rims by 1.7 kg and the subframe weighs 1.9 kg less now, and the result is that the motorcycle has a dry weight of 166 kg.

Having made the motorcycle lighter, Ducati turned its attention toward improving maneuverability. It did so by increasing the steering angle to 36 degrees (up by 7 degrees), bringing the handlebar closer to the rider, changing the position of the foot pegs and by fitting the seat at an accessible height (of 820 mm).

Bookings are now open across all Ducati dealerships and deliveries will begin immediately

Moreover, the naked motorcycle has plentiful electronics as well. It comes fitted with a 4.3-inch TFT display, 3 riding modes (Urban, Sport and Touring), cornering ABS, Traction Control, Wheelie Control and Launch Control as standard.
