2021 Mahindra Scorpio Spied, Looks To Be Production-Ready

The car will have a fresh exterior and interior design

The 2021 model year Mahindra Scorpio has been spied on test once again, with the latest spy pictures being that of a better equipped variant.

Before anything, the sheer size of the thing is what captures one’s attention first as it is seemingly bigger than the current model.

Although the pre-production model is heavily camouflaged, certain details are evident from the get-go and it starts with the radiator grille upfront. It is a typical Mahindra affair flanked by twin-pod headlights.

Also, the front bumper is new with a smallish skid plate, while at either side there are air vents, which are hopefully functional and the bonnet has got the obligatory creases.

Along the sides, we can see that it runs on alloy wheels and that it has plenty of wheel travel. Also, there are ORVMs with integrated blinkers, a kink in the bodywork below the passenger window, regular door handles, roof rails and side steps.

At the back, there is a large side-hinged tailgate with a roof spoiler, rear windscreen wiper, new tail lights and a small bumper. It has a much more modern profile to it.

Images of the 2021 Mahindra Scorpio spied car’s interior is not available. But, from what we have seen earlier, it is evident that the car’s insides will be modern, feature-rich and better put together.

Codenamed Z101, the SUV is expected to be offered with 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options, while there will be a couple of gearbox choices and 4-wheel-drive will also be on offer.

Expect the new Scorpio to get launched within the first half of this year and sit below the upcoming 2021 XUV500 in the carmaker’s Indian portfolio.
