2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan Launched, Priced At Rs. 2.01 Lakhs

These updates have been made after listening to rider feedback says the firm

Royal Enfield has launched the 2021 Himalayan with a price tag of Rs. 2,01,314/- (ex-showroom, Chennai), today in India, while also simultaneously launching it in the Europe and the UK.

For the 2021 model year, the Himalayan features a new windscreen, restyled front rack, a new rear carrier that is reduced in height and improved seat cushioning.

As speculated earlier, the 2021 Himalayan comes with the brand’s Tripper navigation assist that is powered by Google Maps and the Royal Enfield app, keeping one’s smartphone connected to the bike through Bluetooth.

Three new colourways, namely – Granite Black (mix of matte and gloss finish), Mirage Silver and Pine Green – have also been introduced on the adventure motorcycle. The existing colours include Gravel Grey, Lake Blue and Rock Red.

Apart from these changes, the motorcycle remains as it is. Thus, it still features a halogen headlight and LED tail lamp, has a 15-litre fuel tank and weighs 199 kg.

Powering the motorcycle is a 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor, making 24.3 BHP at 6500 RPM and 32 Nm from 4000-4500 RPM, it is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Like before, the bike comes with 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels and has a single 300 mm disc with 2-piston caliper (front) and 240 mm disc with single piston caliper (rear) doing the braking duty and dual-channel switchable ABS (rear wheel ABS deactivation) comes as standard.

Now, the bike can be personalised through the brand’s “Make it Yours” initiative, which will allow customers to not only know the on-road 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan price at once, but also personalise and accessorise the bike through the Enfield app, on the brand’s website and at its dealerships.

The motorcycle now comes with Tripper navigation assist
The rear carrier comes with an additional plate to ensure secure fastening of luggage
The Mirage Silver model gets brown seats
The Pine Green and Granite black options cost about Rs. 8000/- more
It remains to be seen how effective these incremental changes are
