2021 SsangYong Rexton Revealed With Contemporary Looks

SsangYong has revealed the 2021 Rexton with refreshed styling and has put the SUV on sale in the UK.

Now, the car sports a new front fascia with a revised radiator grille, latest LED headlights, while the rear profile has also been revamped with there also being new LED tail lamps.

The interior has now become more stylish with new centre and overhead consoles, while the car also features the latest infotainment technology and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s cluster.

Only 2 trim levels of the 7-seat SUV are offered and they are – Ventura and Ultimate. Even the base variant of the 2021 SsangYong Rexton comes with LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, full digital console, dual zone climate control, 8-inch touchscreen, heated leather steering wheel, power adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats, front and rear parking sensors and rear-view camera.

The Ultimate trim comes with 9-inch HD touchscreen with TomTom navigation, leather upholstery, interior mood lighting, stainless steel door finishes, rear-view camera with 360 monitoring system, LED fog lights, and an electronic tailgate.

Powering the car is a 2.2-litre e-XDi 220 turbo diesel engine that now delivers a maximum power of 202 PS and peak torque of 441 Nm. It is mated with a new 8-speed automatic transmission featuring shift-by-wire system.

Power is sent to all 4 wheels (a part-time system that primarily sends power to the rear wheels) and thus, the 2021 SsangYong Rexton can do the 0-100 km/hr run in 11.9 seconds and return 11.65 km/l on a combined cycle.

The SUV that weighs 2180 kg also has a towing capacity of 3500 kg and boasts of Trailer Sway Control (TSC) feature. Built on a body-on-frame construction, the 2021 SsangYong Rexton also comes with the latest safety aids and driver assistance tech.
