2021 Toyota Fortuner Spied On Test In India

The facelifted car was unveiled in Thailand last month

2021 Toyota Fortuner has been spied while the SUV was undergoing testing on Indian roads. The facelifted model was unveiled in Thailand in June, 2020.

The 2021 Toyota Fortuner spied here is the standard variant, the other being Legender, and gets subtle changes.

A new grille flanked by thick chrome strips on either side, LED headlights with DRLs, fog lights, LED blinkers integrated into the lower half of the bumper and a big skid plate can be seen.

At the sides, one can see chrome garnish on the window line and chrome door handles, prominent wheel arch plastic cladding, 18-inch diamond cut alloys, roof rails and foot board. The rear of the car will also see revised styling with sharp creases, revised bumper and a skid plate to protect the body.

No interior pictures are available, but expect it to mirror the Thai-version albeit with differences in number of features offered. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (9-inch in Legender trim) with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto will be present.

Also, a 360 degree parking camera, wireless mobile phone charging, ambient lighting, automatic climate control, 8-way power adjustable front seats, will all be present along with lots of safety features.

Expect 2021 Toyota Fortuner spied here to come with the 2.8-litre diesel engine that now produces more power, with 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque being the output. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto box.

There will be a petrol option too, a 2.7-litre 4-pot that develops 166 PS and 245 Nm with the same transmission options. To hit showrooms ahead of the festive season this year, more details will be revealed about the Fortuner soon.
