KTM’s new design language could prove to be a hit or miss

KTM is gearing up to launch the 2022 model year RC 200 and RC 390 supersport motorcycles in India by the July-August period.

Dealers have begun accepting bookings (unofficially) for both models in various cities already, and the token amount varies from Rs. 1000-10,000/- at present.

Those interested in buying the new generation RC 200 and RC 390 would have already got a clear picture as to how the motorcycles will look like in the flesh, for the internet is awash with spy shots of both bikes.

Of the 2, it will be the larger model which will get a comprehensive update. While the new styling is set to be shared between the bikes, the 2022 RC 390 will come with new TFT instrument display, a more comfortable riding position, better brakes, among other upgrades.

On the other hand, while the 2022 RC 200 will feature the same exterior styling as the 2022 RC 390, it is likely to continue using the current model’s LCD display. The upshot due to that is that the 200cc supersport bike will not cost terribly more than the model it replaces.

However, the same cannot be said about the new generation RC 390 (the launch of which is most likely to happen along with the 2022 KTM RC 200 launch), which is expected to come at a significant premium over its predecessor that was recently discontinued.

Hopefully KTM has not added too much weight this time around
