The supersport bikes come with polarising new styling and bodywork

The 2022 KTM RC 390 unveil should shortly take place in India, along with the new RC 125 and RC 200, as well

Earlier this month we brought you the images of the production-spec 2022 KTM RC 390, RC 200 and RC 125. Now, the official unveil of 2 of the models has taken place overseas.

Sporting a brand-new chassis, the supersport machines come with new MotoGP-inspired styling and paint schemes. The Austrian brand says they have sharper handling and better ergonomics than their predecessors.

KTM has increased the fuel capacity of the new RC range to 13.7 litres and has thus reduced weight elsewhere. The frame is 1.5 kg lighter now, while the new alloy wheels further save 3.4 kg of rotating mass.

Both 2022 KTM RC 125 and RC 390 come with a larger air filter box, higher top speed (due to optimised aerodynamics), a seat height of 824 mm and 158 mm ground clearance.

Now, let us look at the bikes in detail, shall we?

2022 KTM RC 390 –

The new RC 390 has a dry weight of 155 kg

The new generation RC 390 from KTM comes with a LED headlight, LED DRLs, integrated indicators and an LED rear light.

It has a TFT display, height-adjustable handlebar (by 10 mm), new fork arms, hollow front axle and even a new exhaust system with a stainless steel manifold and an aluminium silencer.

Powering the bike is a 373cc, liquid cooled, single-cylinder engine that puts out 43 HP and 37 Nm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

It can be fitted with a quickshifter which is offered as an optional extra

KTM has also fitted new suspension to the bike. It comes with 43 mm WP Apex front USD forks with 30-step rebound and compression adjustment (120 mm travel) and an adjustable WP Apex rear shock (150 mm travel).

Stopping power comes from a 320 mm front disc with 4-piston ByBre brake caliper (setup is lighter by 960 grams) and 230 mm rear disc with 1-piston caliper along with dual channel ABS.

In terms of features, the new RC 390 has a new ride-by-wire system, Motorcycle traction control (MTC), cornering ABS with lean angle sensor and Supermoto ABS.

2022 KTM RC 125 –

KTM says the paintwork inspired by the RC16 factory racing bike

Although it looks identical to the larger bike, the 2022 KTM RC 125 does get different colour schemes (pictured).

While the international model gets an LED headlight, the Indian version should come with a halogen unit. Also, the international model’s TFT display, could well be swapped for an LCD screen on the Indian model.

Power comes from a 124.7cc, liquid cooled motor that puts out 15 HP and 12 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike weighs 147 kg (dry).

The RC 200 should come with similar colour schemes

The smallest RC gets the same height-adjustable handlebar, WP Apex suspension and braking hardware as the 2022 RC 390. But, it comes with only dual channel ABS (Supermoto ABS) and no other electronics.

While the 2022 RC 200 has not been unveiled overseas, expect it to come with the same design as the other models of its ilk and the same engine as the latest Duke 200. All 3 bikes should make their debut in India very soon.

Expect KTM to launch the supersport bikes soon in India
