2023 KTM 890 Adventure Spotted, What’s New?

Now, this will be an apt middleweight bike to go on long rides

For model year 2023, the KTM 890 Adventure family is set to grow

Automotive spy photographers have caught KTM road-testing the entire 2023 890 Adventure model range that will comprise 3 models.

The biggest development for 2023 would be the addition of a road-biased variant – which could be called the 890 Adventure S – with 17-inch alloy wheels.

This middleweight mile-muncher borrows not only its rims from the Duke 890, but its front mudguard too. But, the adventure bike riding position has not been changed.

The development mules did not have any camouflage

Inclusion of a new variant aside, the 2023 KTM 890 Adventure models get new bodywork, flyscreen (the road-biased version was spotted without it), new bash plate and a new TFT dash.

The revised 890 Adventure will get the high front mudguard that was previously reserved for the more adventure-oriented ‘R’. But the 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels stay as is.

While the bodywork has changed, the 890 Adventure range still retains the chassis, seat, and exhaust. Similarly, the WP Apex suspension of the 890 Adventure, now shared by the S model, and the WP Xplor kit of the ‘R’ are unchanged.

The 890 Adventure range will continue using the same 889cc parallel-twin engine

It is rather interesting to see KTM work on a completely new 990cc model range and at the same time roll-out updates to its 890 version which was introduced only in 2021.

What’s more, the Austrian bike manufacturer is also developing new smaller Duke models – ‘125’ to ‘390’ – which are most important for its business in developing nations.
