Kia teases heavily updated 2026 Seltos ahead of its India debut
Kia has released the first official teaser of the next generation Seltos for India, expected to premiere on 10th December. The upcoming model represents the most extensive overhaul for the compact SUV since it launched in the country, signalling Kia’s intent to push the Seltos further upmarket with new technology, a redesigned cabin and the potential addition of a strong-hybrid variant.
Front profile glimpse and test mule images indicate a noticeably sharper exterior. The 2026 Seltos appears to adopt a more upright stance, complemented by a larger grille with squared-off edges, vertically stacked LED elements, redesigned bumpers and fresh alloy-wheel patterns. The rear profile also sees notable changes, including a reworked tailgate and updated LED tail-lamps for a more robust look.
Inside, the new Seltos is expected to receive a substantial refresh. A cleaner dashboard layout, improved materials, a larger touchscreen and revised seats aimed at boosting comfort are all anticipated. Feature updates may include newer connectivity functions, an expanded ADAS suite and more premium dual-tone trim options.
For powertrains, Kia is likely to carry forward the familiar 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The brand may also introduce a strong-hybrid system, as hinted by earlier sightings. Transmission choices should continue to include manual, iMT and automatic gearboxes, with expected refinements for better drivability.
The updated Seltos will continue to compete in the highly contested mid-size SUV segment, taking on rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Tata Sierra and the likes.
